We have our alarm clock set to NPR in the morning so we can kind of know what’s going on in the world. This morning the news was about riots in Haiti because they can’t afford food. About a half an hour later there was a story on how Americans spent $1.7 billion on video games last month–50 % more than March last year. Something is wrong here.
I heard about this website a while ago that I think is really clever. Freerice.com uses advertising revenue generated by people playing the word game on their site to donate rice to the UN World Food Program. It’s a fun game too.
