My First Dye Job

My First Dye Job

Don’t worry, I’m not talking about my hair. We have been somewhat stumped on what we should be for Halloween. (We’ve known what Cooper was going to be before he was born, thanks to my parents.) However, we were struck with sheer brilliance for Noel’s costume the other day when we were reading Cooper one of his new library acquisitions. I won’t ruin the surprise, but it did entail finding Noel a yellow shirt. We decided we would just dye one of his old white shirts that probably needed to be retired soon anyway.

Even though the dye didn’t cost that much (a couple of dollars), I threw in one of my shirts in order to get more bang for our buck. A beloved shirt that I got my freshman year . . . like 6 years ago. Dingy and stained, it was looking pretty sad.

Noel’s shirt turned out a pale yellow due to the high content of polyester, but my cotton shirt soaked that dye right up. Here it is after its makeover, just in time for tonight’s Halloween party. Now I’m just upset I can’t find any of my Halloween earrings.

  1. Wow! I love your yellow shirt. The dye really made it pop. I’m gonna have to try that. I’m glad you like ‘dress a day.’ It’s one of my favorites 🙂 When my sister first showed it to me I spent forever looking at all the posts to see the before/after shots. She’s so creative! Now I just need to learn to sew, bargain shop, and design like her. That should be pretty easy 😉
