August 2019

August 2019

We kicked August off with another trip. This trip was not one we had originally planned, but when a friend of ours got permits to hike the Narrows in Zion we couldn’t pass up the opportunity. The biggest obstacle was finding something to do with the kids. My brother and sister-in-law live in Cedar City. When they said they could watch the kids the day we did the hike we began planning our final summer adventure.

July 2019

July is when summer started to pick up. We were gone almost half of the month so our time in town was spent doing laundry, working, taking our cat to the vet, and packing for our next adventure.

June 2019

June 2019

Well, I suppose it’s about time I write about our summer. Life has been FULL of big and little adventures and blogging just hasn’t been a huge priority. But, I do like having this little log to look back on and my grandmother did say she was worried we were still alive the last time I talked to her, ha, ha. So, let’s blast back to June and do a quick recap.

Noel and I ran our first (and likely last) ultra marathon this last Saturday. It was kind of a big deal for us and I’ve also gotten a few questions about it, so I’m going to give the race it’s own post and address a few things.

May 2019

May was packed to the gills with just about everything you could imagine. Parents with kids older than mine used to tell me, “May is such a crazy month when you have school-aged kids.” Turns out they were right.

Spring Break 2019

Spring Break 2019

A few months ago, we were stuck inside on a snowy day. SAD was hitting us hard so we were trying to come up with spring break ideas to make us feel more hopeful about life. The winter blues had us hard though, because even as we tried to dream everything seemed impossible, too far away, or not warm enough to get us excited. Morale wasn’t great. Noel’s cousin-in-law works for Marriott and can sometimes get us discounted rooms. On…

March 2019

March 2019

March started with a clog in the kitchen sink drain pipes. We snaked the drain and it was still clogged. We snaked it again and tried our best to be really thorough. Then, we decided to say a prayer that the snaking worked. I’m thinking we need to do this with all future plumbing projects (which are always heinous) because when we put everything back together the water flowed freely.

February 2019

February 2019

One of the things I like about blogging at this stage of my life is the reflection. Our life is pretty fast paced and one day often blends into the next, so it’s really beneficial to me to look back and really appreciate how much we’ve accomplished, grown, lived up life, and even struggled. It’s probably not as meaningful for you dear reader, but if you’re here hopefully you can find some sort of enjoyment out of my February recap.

January 2019

The first eight days of January, the kids were still on Winter Break. We tried to do one fun thing every day whether that was swimming after I was done teaching a class or making a trip to the library. We had some cold days over the break and people were getting a little stir-crazy so we did a bunch of relay races in the basement to burn off energy. We called it “indoor field day.”
