Thanks for sharing. I also love hearing other birth stories and have started writing up Tay’s. I always meant to do it, but now I have to before the details get mixed up! I’m jealous, I’ve had realitively easy labors, but never that good! Good luck with this one, I’m sure you’ll do great!

Thanks for sharing your story! I can’t believe that you were at a 9 when you got to the hospital and I think it’s so impressive that you had a natural birth. But then again, I shouldn’t be surprised because you run marathons, so that means you have really good self control and high pain tolerance Me not so much – I’m postponing running a marathon until the next life

It’s so funny how your mind goes into denial mode when you’re in labor. I remember Blake finally convincing me we should go to the hospital and telling me that I didn’t need to drop off my teaching folder at Head Start before we went – so glad we didn’t! Then I remember being so sure that they were going to send me home and being so shocked when I was dilated to a 7. It was right after that though that my labor began to be really intense and I started hyperventilating a little bit, so we were both really glad we were at the hospital.

I really hope that you have more supportive nurses and a lot less than two hours of pushing this time. It’s so exciting that Miss Ellen is almost here!

Okay, I think the nurse who did your check in is LAME (“What makes you THINK you’re water broke?” etc). How frustrating that she was so skeptical! But I’m sure they see it all the time of women hoping to be in labor (my other friend kind of played that card…) Getting to the hospital at 9cm as a first time mom is quite impressive and probably unexpected for the staff! Thanks for sharing.

I don’t think I ever heard about your labor with Cooper – that sounds intense. Did it take a while to realize that you were really in labor since he was so early? I can’t believe the nurse asked you about your will. That would have completely scared me. I hope you have a fast (but not too fast and smooth labor/delivery with wonderful nurses!

P.S. The ‘infamous’ Target shirt is so cute and flattering!

Wow, I knew Cooper came early, but had no idea that his birth was so eventful. I’d beware the tubs though. My second time around I was (unknowingly) in transition while we checked in, and the nurse kept bugging me about my allergies (which I was definitely NOT in the mood to chat about). I got in the “awesome jet tub,” and the instant she left out came baby.
