My Bags Are Packed, I’m Ready To Go

I’m really hoping that Ellen follows Cooper’s lead and that February is baby month. At church on Sunday several people said things to me like, “Only a couple of more days, you can do it” and when I told a lady that my due date wasn’t until March she said, “Really? Sounds like your doctor did some bad math to me.” Fingers crossed for bad math indeed πŸ™‚

Me at 34 1/2 weeks sporting the infamous shirt from the Target fat mirror post.

Whether or not Ellen actually comes early, we did learn something from Cooper’s early arrival. It’s best to be prepared so you can just throw everything in the car and not be enduring an agonizing drive when you’re in transition (especially since the hospital isn’t quite as close this time around) or have the nurse asking you if you have a living will when you’re pushing. The baby is head down, I’ve got a list of people willing to watch Cooper, and the bags are packed so whenever the time comes we can calmly head to the hospital and hopefully enjoy at least a little time in the awesome jetted laboring tubs.

Bags waiting for our spur of the moment “get away.”

  1. I’m sending happy thoughts your way for time to use the labor tub! Wish I was around the corner and could be there at a moment’s notice.

  2. That Target shirt is cute and it looks great on you! I sure hope you get to use the labor tub too. I had one and it was fabulous!

P.S. I think I would lose my cool (yell!) if a nurse asked me about my will during labor. Just saying.

  3. Wow, I knew Cooper came early, but had no idea that his birth was so eventful. I’d beware the tubs though. My second time around I was (unknowingly) in transition while we checked in, and the nurse kept bugging me about my allergies (which I was definitely NOT in the mood to chat about). I got in the “awesome jet tub,” and the instant she left out came baby.

  4. I don’t think I ever heard about your labor with Cooper – that sounds intense. Did it take a while to realize that you were really in labor since he was so early? I can’t believe the nurse asked you about your will. That would have completely scared me. I hope you have a fast (but not too fast πŸ™‚ and smooth labor/delivery with wonderful nurses!

P.S. The ‘infamous’ Target shirt is so cute and flattering!
