Punkins!

Punkins!

Cooper is starting to talk a lot more and one of his favorite words this fall has been “punkin!” The word is always said with at least one exclamation point. About a week ago, we picked out a couple of pumpkins at a local patch.

Just last night, we finally got around to carving them. We thought about putting it off at least one more night when dinner was just one long whine-fest, but when we mentioned the word “pumpkin” and Cooper’s eyes got really big and he just kept repeating “Punkin, punkin, punkin!!!!” with a huge grin on his face we gave in. (Yes, we are aware that our children are master manipulators. We dare you to resist their cuteness 🙂 )

Cooper and Ellen both thought the gooey insides of the pumpkin were pretty awesome.

Ellen even tried to eat some of it. Luckily it’s non-toxic 😉

Everyone and everything was a mess by the time we were done, but we had a lot of fun.

We declare pumpkin carving 2012 to be a success!

Bet you can’t guess which one Noel carved. We’re pretty sure the CFL pumpkin will look awesome lit up on Halloween night. If you want to geek out any of your pumpkins, you can find some neat stencils here.
