Making a Two Year Church Service Mission Look Like a Nonstop Party

Making a Two Year Church Service Mission Look Like a Nonstop Party

My brother, Spencer, will be leaving in a month to serve a two-year mission for our church. Before he heads off to Eugene, Oregon he wanted to spend some quality time with us (mostly our kids) so he came and visited. It’s pretty common for people to worry about all the fun they’ll miss while they’re away for two years, but after visiting us for a week I think we helped Spencer put those worries to rest. At least as far as we’re concerned, he won’t be missing much.

Spencer kindly watched the kids while we went on runs and picked up plants for the yard, he didn’t complain when our evening entertainment (shows on Hulu) wrapped up before 10:15 every night, and he pretended to be impressed when we planned fun activities like touring Noel’s new work building and going to the Botanic Gardens when hardly any of the plants are blooming yet. Regardless of how lame we might be, we did feed him well though. It was nice to have him visit and even if there won’t be much to miss around here for the next two years, we’ll surely miss him.

  1. Hey I had a lot of fun with you guys, especially with the kids. I also didn’t mind watching Hulu with you guys. I can’t wait to see you again and will miss you while I’m gone.
