Called to Serve

Called to Serve

I received my mission call! It didn’t end up in Nebraska or Guam after all. I got it on Saturday while I was working at the post office. I had mentioned that I was concerned about whether it was coming to the postmaster and as we were going through the mail, she was like, “Is this what you were waiting for?” So, I waited for several hours until I got off work to go home and open it with my family. It just kind of sat there on the table and stared at me that whole time.

Anyways, I’m going to serve in the California Arcadia mission. I report to the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah on the 7th of January. I’ll be teaching in English too, so there won’t be any learning a foreign language. It’s funny to me because I expected a mission to put me farther away from home. Instead I am closer. I know it’s no foreign country, but I’m sure it will be foreign enough to me.

Now the real fun begins.
