Low-Key Fourth of July

Low-Key Fourth of July

Holidays are always a little tough for us because the truth is, we aren’t really fond of being around lots of other people. Thus, we tend to be a bit hermitish when everyone else is out partying.  This fourth we stayed close to home, played with the kids, ate delicious summer favorites (grilled hamburgers and homemade ice cream), and did a few fireworks in the street before putting the kids to bed. Noel and I thought we might catch some of the bigger fireworks from our roof, but the mature trees in the neighborhood revealed their first flaw by blocking all the views. It was actually really nice to use one of Noel’s days off work to just chill.
