What I have to say about that

What I have to say about that

We are not as boring as the blog makes us sound. I here include evidence to support my claim. We have celebrated several holidays since the last time either of us wrote including a traditional celebration of Groundhog’s Day complete with a Rice Krispy groundhog and the Groundhog’s Day movie on the big screen. The Reubin’s Tube was a lot of fun and here’s the video to prove it. Also, we had a most enjoyable Friday the 13th/Valentine’s/President’s Day weekend….

No, we aren’t dead.

No, we aren’t dead.

Sometimes it feels like we’re dead though. Yesterday at work, one of the single guys I work with asked if I had any exciting plans for the weekend. I told him I was just excited to sleep past 7:30, wash my dishes, and do some laundry.  I guess I’m becoming one of those people that gives single people the idea that married people are boring. I’ll try to do better. This is my final semester of classes at Utah State…

At least I’ll have a job

At least I’ll have a job

So, I went to a social for Tau Beta Pi, an engineering group on campus I’m involved with (I know–engineering social–it’s an oxymoron), and they mentioned that engineering is one of the top careers to have during a recession. The sad thing is why: Mechanical Engineer (and all engineering fields). With every passing year, more skilled-labor jobs are replaced by complex automation or robotics systems. For example, some hospitals have turned to “robotic pharmacies” to help dispense medication. It’s the…

Pretzel Art

This is what happens when we come home hungry and bored late at night after running on gerbil wheels treadmills for four miles. Mix in a bag of Rold Gold, and you get…

Oh Deer

Oh Deer

Look mom, we have wildlife here in Utah too! I looked out the window the other day and saw these two deer in the neighbor’s backyard, one eating and the other keeping an eye out for anything suspicious.

Coveting Furniture

Coveting Furniture

We like looking at furniture, but we never buy any because it’s expensive and probably wouldn’t fit in our apartment. However, the other day we found the perfect couch!

Dear Santa, I no longer want a white Christmas.

Dear Santa, I no longer want a white Christmas.

I miss the 10 year drought we were having here in Utah. We’ve seen way too much snow. We  skied on snow, Shoveled snow, Bent the skid plate on our car from driving in snow, Got stuck at Danielle’s house with her smelly dog and no toothbrushes due to the snow, And returned to Logan to find that snow falling off our roof had removed the rain gutter from the house. We did, however, have a Christmas miracle. In the…

Nearing the End

Nearing the End

Christmas break is drawing nearer and nearer and I’ve been trying to hold off posting so Noel could have a turn, but I am bored (my finals are ridiculously easy) and Noel is busy (his finals are significantly difficult). I have highlighted some of the things we have learned during the past 3 weeks below: Contrary to what people at church may sometimes think, email forwards, even ones about apostles, are not always true (shocking I know). If you go…

Most Married People Have Blogs so they can . . .

Most Married People Have Blogs so they can . . .

either tell everyone about how blissful their lives’ are, or so they can post pictures of their adorable kids. Well, we haven’t quite achieved either of the two vital criteria for the married blogosphere, but currently we are cat-sitting (which is naturally the next best thing when seeking domestic perfection). Besides, we all know Glenna is dying to see her baby 🙂

Viva Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas

The best part about being able to present in Vegas was that I got to bring Noel with me. Because the English department is so poor though, we shared a room with Jeff, his wife Sarah, and Ashley – which was actually a lot more fun than it sounds. Even though I’ve been to Vegas a couple of times I’ve never actually been to the strip . . . so while spending our three days in Vegas we ate at…
